Like most suburbs of the Gold Coast the snake catcher for Runaway Bay, Biggera Waters, Arundel, Labrador has recorded the Eastern Brown Snake in all of these localities. Other snakes favoured by this complex suburban environment include the Common Tree Snake and The Carpet Python. The latter poses significant problems for small pets such as birds and guinea pigs which are not housed in snake proof enclosures.
